Evacuation Instructions


IN THE EVENT OF THE ALARM BEING SOUNDED DURING WORSHIP:


    The minister will read aloud the following instructions from the pulpit :

 

The Fire Alarm has sounded. Evacuation will commence immediately. The Fire Alarm Response Team is checking on the status of the alarm. In the meantime, we will begin evacuation procedures:

Duty ushers and off-duty ushers, please move now to your ‘stand by’ positions.

Families with children in the nursery please send one parent now to prepare your child for evacuation. Families with children in the church school, please remain seated for the moment, staff are already preparing the church school for evacuation and you will be able to meet your children in front of Royal City Church.

Listen for any instructions. When it is your turn to evacuate, please leave the building as quickly as possible through the doors which I indicate, and meet in front of Royal City Church. Do not use the elevators.

IF YOU REQUIRE ASSISTANCE, PLEASE RAISE YOUR HAND, AND REMAIN SEATED UNTIL AN USHER COMES TO ASSIST YOU.

Persons seated in the side galleries, please leave by the closest stairway.

Persons seated on the main floor, please begin evacuation now by the nearest narthex door, beginning at the back pew and moving forward, one pew at a time.

Persons seated in the centre gallery, please evacuate now by the closest stairway.

Off-duty ushers, please assist handicapped persons to evacuate.

Choir, please evacuate now by the narthex and Quebec Street entrance.

Ushers, and anyone else remaining, please evacuate now.
